BTCCSquare news:

Arbitrum has reclaimed its compromised governance X account following a breach that saw hackers promote a fraudulent airdrop. The exploit, which unfolded on Tuesday, involved posts enticing users with false rewards for bridging assets, swapping tokens, and other on-chain activities.

The team confirmed account recovery late Tuesday, pledging a security review to prevent repeat incidents. Phishing attempts capitalized on Arbitrum's credibility, mimicking legitimate incentive programs with claims of exclusive rewards for 'real users.'

Such scams increasingly target layer-2 ecosystems as airdrop hunting gains traction. The incident underscores persistent security challenges in decentralized governance despite Arbitrum's established position in the ethereum scaling landscape.
